Dr Anmar Al-Witri | Neurosurgeon, FRACS

Dr Anmar Al-Witri is a specialist neurosurgeon consulting at Macquarie Neurosurgery & Spine, with rooms at the Nepean Private Specialist Centre in Kingswood.

He completed his neurosurgical training across a number of major Australian centres, including Westmead Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital, John Hunter Hospital, Queensland Children’s Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital and Nepean Hospital, and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Neurosurgery.

Dr Al-Witri provides assessment and surgical management of a broad range of brain and spinal conditions, with particular clinical interests in:

  • Degenerative cervical and lumbar spinal conditions

  • Spinal surgery, including instrumented spinal surgery

  • Brain tumours

  • Hydrocephalus

He is committed to providing considered, evidence-based and individualised care, with an emphasis on clear communication with patients, their families and referring practitioners. Where appropriate, non-operative management is considered alongside surgical treatment options.

Dr Al-Witri is also actively involved in teaching and supervision of neurosurgical trainees, junior doctors and medical students, and has published and presented research in neurosurgery.
